The Kiss That Changed Everything

I saw her through the window, sitting in the passenger seat of someone else’s car, leaning in close.

I froze, watching as she laughed and touched his arm. For a second, I told myself it was nothing—maybe a friend, maybe a colleague. But when they kissed, my stomach dropped.

I walked back to my car, dinner forgotten. The drive home felt like hours. I sat in the dark, waiting for her to come back, practicing what I’d say. But when she walked through the door, smiling like nothing had happened, I realized I didn’t need to say anything. The truth had already spoken.
