King Charles’ Cousin’s Husband Found Dead at 45: Tragic Cause of Death Revealed

In a tragic turn of events, Thomas Kingston, the husband of King Charles’ cousin, was found dead with a “traumatic head wound” and a gun by his side at his parents’ home in the Cotswolds. The news emerged during the opening of an inquest at Gloucestershire Coroner’s Court.
On the afternoon of February 25, Kingston enjoyed lunch with his parents at their home. Following the meal, his father left to walk the dogs, only to return and discover Kingston missing from the house. Approximately 30 minutes later, Kingston’s mother set out to search for him.

As time passed, Kingston’s father decided to investigate further. After failing to reach his son, he broke into a locked outbuilding. Inside, Kingston lay badly injured, with a firearm nearby. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts to save him, he died.

“He found Mr. Kingston deceased with a catastrophic head injury. A gun was present at the scene. Emergency services were called. Police are satisfied the death is not suspicious,” stated senior coroner Katy Skerrett in the court.

Dr. Jones, a consulting histopathologist, has carried out a post-mortem examination. The doctor gave an initial diagnosis suggesting that a severe head injury was the cause of death.

“Having been satisfied with identification, the initial cause of death, and the brief circumstances surrounding Mr. Kingston’s death, I can formally open this inquest. I now adjourn it to a date to be fixed. That concludes the opening of the inquest into the death of Thomas Henry Robin Kingston,” the statement concluded.

As reported by someone a media outlet deems a Buckingham Palace spokesperson, the King and Queen of England also expressed that they stand in solidarity with Prince Michael—the grandson of King George V and cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II—, his wife and everyone who knew Thomas as they grieve the beloved family member.

Thomas’s personal ties to the royal family expand back to a time before he met and married Lady Gabriella. Years ago, he dated Princess Catherine’s younger sister, Pippa Middleton.

Despite ending their relationship sometime around 2011, Thomas and Pippa remained friends. He even attended Pippa and her husband, James Matthew’s wedding in 2017 with Lady Gabriella and in turn, Pippa was a guest at Thomas and Lady Gabriella’s wedding in 2019.

More than just the former doting wife of a financier, Lady Gabriella is quite accomplished in her professional life. In addition to being a writer, singer, and songwriter, she holds a BA in Comparative Literature from Brown University and an MPhil in Social Anthropology from Oxford.

Her work spans contributions to The London Magazine and initiatives with Latin American partners in the arts and conservation sectors. In 2020, she released her first jazz music project in an effort to support the Playing for Change Foundation.

Drawing back to the recent ongoings of the British royal family, aside from the tragic news of Thomas’s passing, the royal family has been navigating a series of personal and health-related challenges recently. Communication from a media outlet stipulated that Prince William withdrew from attending a memorial service for the late former King Constantine of Greece, where he was set to give a reading.

Kensington Palace explained that his reason involved a “personal matter.” However, it was clarified that Prince William’s matter is no cause for concern. Nonetheless, Queen Camilla attended and led the charge for her family at the service.

This news follows a succession of royal health concerns, including Princess Catherine’s recovery from abdominal surgery and King Charles III’s cancer treatment.

Hours ago, a video of Prince William was posted online in which he addressed the recent health news concerning King Charles III and Princess Catherine. The Prince of Wales attended a benefit during which he thanked people for their well wishes and kind words.

This is the first time Prince William has commented on the King of England’s cancer diagnosis and the Princess of Wales’ abdominal surgery. During the speech he gave, Prince William highlighted how much the overwhelming support the royal family has received means to them.

He went on to divulge, “It’s fair to say the past few weeks have had a rather medical focus. So I thought I’d come to an Air Ambulance function to get away from it all.” The public has reacted with concern for the Prince’s appearance and continues to pray for him and his family.

Many believe King Charles III will emerge victorious from his cancer battle and remain faithful, including royal biographer Robert Hardman. Regarding the King’s cancer, Robert disclosed, “He’s a fighter and has an inner steel.”

Until then, the King’s valiant eldest son has stepped up to undertake some of his father’s duties. However, King Charles does not want his son to be burdened by the pressures that come along with the responsibilities of stepping up.

According to a source who spoke to a news outlet, King Charles III has always been the kind of father who did not want to put royal pressure on his children too early. Additionally, no plans have been made yet to appoint Counsellors of State to act on the King of England’s behalf.
