I Reviewed the Security Footage After Leaving My Newborn with My Sister-in-Law

It can be hard for husbands and wives to deal with problems that arise between a wife and her extended family. To keep the family happy, everyone needs to find a way to be friendly with the in-laws while also making sure they are happy. Someone who just had a baby recently found out that her sister-in-law had been secretly helping her with her housework and her new baby in the weirdest way possible. She looked for help online on how to deal with this tough situation.

My husband David and I were blessed with a beautiful daughter about three months ago. For two months, I fed her breast milk. After that, my milk stopped coming in, so we switched to formula. In other news, Diana, my sister-in-law, has been having a hard time lately with her boyfriend of a long time. He was making her miss him, so David, being the thoughtful big brother he is, suggested she stay with us until she makes up her mind, whether it’s to go back to her boyfriend or find a new place to live.

I would leave the baby with David every morning while I went grocery shopping. David went back to work after his paternity leave was over, though. But since my sister-in-law was nearby, it was fine for me to leave the baby with her while I went shopping. But after a couple of weeks of this, my baby changed; she now cries hysterically when she’s supposed to be fed from a bottle. I was very worried, so I took her to the pediatrician. He suggested that we try a different formula. That didn’t work either.

We just put up security cameras in our house because we might hire a nanny someday, and I thought it would be a good idea to watch the footage to see if anything was wrong with my baby while I was gone. What was shown on the screen was gross. My sister-in-law was breastfeeding my baby, but she has no idea that the camera is there! I mean, how could this even be possible? I was scared to death, so I ran to my husband and told him what I had found.

When David confronted his sister right away, he found out that she had a miscarriage when she was six months pregnant with her boyfriend’s baby, which made her body start making milk. She felt bad about giving our baby “artificial milk” when she could give her “natural milk” from her own breasts, like she was some kind of supermom.

I was shocked. You’re right, what she went through is heartbreaking, but that’s not okay! Because of what I found, I could not let her stay in our house. David was supposed to let his sister stay with us for 24 hours and then help her find a place to stay. To my surprise, though, my husband didn’t tell her she had to leave because he knew she was having a hard time after losing both her boyfriend and her baby. He said she needs our help more than ever.

I have no idea what to do here. That being said, I don’t know what to say or do to get him to see how bad things are. I really need some help!
