After being given up as “dumb,” an 18-year-old dog finally finds a kind forever home

When Figgy the Toy Poodle turned 18, he was blind, toothless, and left all alone. Who would be capable of such an act?

The older dog was brought to a vet clinic where he could have faced a dire outcome. Fortunately, the bewildered, frightened senior found his way to the compassionate Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco, California.

Upon his arrival with the necessary documents, the staff and volunteers were taken aback by the reason for his surrender: his owner’s wife disliked him because she found him unintelligent. Wow!

Additionally, based on the documents, it appears that they didn’t have the dog for a significant amount of time. It’s likely that he had resided in several different residences before.

Thanks to the Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, Figgy was finally surrounded by people who truly appreciated him. Before long, the senior sweetheart received the wonderful news that he would be moving into a forever home!

Eileen is a seasoned hospice caretaker who will cherish Figgy for the remainder of his days! We are thrilled to witness this little pup, with his generous heart, finally experiencing the joy of unconditional love.

We are grateful to Patty Stanton from Muttville Senior Dog Rescue for allowing us to share this heartwarming story!
