A 38-year-old woman wrote us a letter in which she told us her story. Her fiancé had been acting like a “nice guy,” and she believed he had good intentions because she trusted him. However, just before their wedding, the woman’s perception of her future husband was significantly altered because, during a crucial family discussion, he didn’t even pretend. Ever since, the woman’s nausea has made it impossible for her to even look at her former beloved. Here are the specifics of this tale with a stunning turn of events.

From the beginning, the relationship was simply wonderful.

A 38-year-old woman named Hailey wrote a letter in which she poignantly described her struggles and disappointments.

Opening her letter, Hailey said, “I am a divorced mother of a fifteen-year-old daughter named Bailey. Even though she is not my biological child, I became her mother. She was two when we got married, and my ex-husband had her with a woman he hardly knew. Bailey is my cherished daughter in every manner. My former spouse tragically passed away at the age of five.”

Hailey continues her tale by stating: “I’ve been engaged to Tom for five years. Bailey views Tom as her paternal uncle. In return, Tom has never mistreated the girl—at least, not that I have ever witnessed him acting strangely or inappropriately.
Tom was aware that Bailey is not my biological daughter and that my ex-husband passed away. With Tom, we were engaged, and I am currently two months pregnant. Everybody in the family was thrilled about the impending arrival of a new member, or so I believed.”

Bailey received excellent treatment from all family members, including the prospective spouse of her mother.

After we tie the knot, Tom has expressed his desire to adopt Bailey, Hailey wrote. Saying he wanted to take her by surprise. Since Bailey and I were getting married in two months, I was relieved that Tom took her serious; that was crucial for both of us.
The girl and Tom have always been more than just friends; in fact, the girl has always believed that Tom is her soulmate. She has even shared some secrets with him and asked him for guidance and support regarding her problems. Tom was the one who knew about the jokes at school first and was the first to react when she was made fun of. In my opinion, he would make a fantastic father for Bailey as well as our child. I was ecstatic!”

The woman went on to say that although Bailey occasionally displayed highly provocative behavior, Tom never yelled at her or even acted aggressively toward her. The man had always been the epitome of composure, handling every disagreement with great tact.

Before the wedding, everything was different.

Hailey wrote: “Even though my daughter and I didn’t have many elaborate plans for our wedding, I still wanted it to be a memorable day for everyone.” Just before the scheduled wedding, Tom and I had an evening meeting with our friends. Bailey was staying with her friend at that time; she wasn’t with us. It was a fantastic night for all of us.
I was in a very good mood and everything was happy. And then the subject of the wedding was raised. And things started to get worse right away. We got to talking about our upcoming honeymoon, and I recommended that Bailey go along. I genuinely wanted to make it our plan and a surprise for Bailey, and I honestly believed that Tom would never object. I was also anticipating a very positive response from him.”

Then things started to spiral out of control. “Tom’s face reddened, and he said with disgust that he would never consider bringing “that annoying teen” on our honeymoon,” Hailey wrote. I asked him to clarify what he meant because I was so shocked and thought there must have been a misunderstanding. However, Tom restated his desire not to bring Bailey.”

Tom became someone entirely different in an instant.

According to Hailey, Tom began to explain that both of us would have a “real” child and that we wouldn’t have to put up with caring for my “stepdaughter,” who has never been my biological child. This was really painful. I simply stared at him, as if he were losing his mind. Tom continued without stopping.

Hailey said, “My ears and eyes just couldn’t believe what I was seeing.” When Tom revealed himself to me for the first time, I felt like throwing up. I thought that this man truly loved Bailey and me, and I had a great deal of faith in him. I also thought that everything he was doing for her was sincere.
As it turned out, Tom was only acting when things became “inconvenient” for him, at which point he spoke up. The thing that disgusted me the most was that he truly thought that because “I was going to have a real child,” I would agree to betray Bailey and share his views on her.”

Hailey wrote that she asked Tom to move out and canceled their wedding in response to what he had said that evening. Bailey was crying when she saw him packing up his belongings because she knew Tom had deceived her. Although Hailey hesitated a long time to tell her daughter the whole truth, in the end she decided Bailey should know what kind of person Tom seemed to be. While Hailey acknowledged that she didn’t want to break her daughter’s heart, she also stated that she didn’t want her to think poorly of Tom.
