Jimmy Kimmel, a fervent opponent of President Trump, revealed that his contract with the network will expire in 2025, potentially signaling the end of his late-night show.

In a Tuesday Los Angeles Times article, Kimmel states, “That seems like enough.”

He stated, “I think this is my final contract,” early in the conversation.
“Everyone is laughing at me right now, and I hate to admit it, but every time I think that, it turns out not to be the case. My contract is still in effect for a little over two years, which seems reasonable.

Kimmel stated just before the writer’s strike that while he had considered retirement, he wasn’t quite ready to relieve the Americans of all of his monologues.

Wednesday night, I was very tired and I had all these scripts to go through; I had to revise and rewrite all these pitch ideas for the Oscars, and I was literally nodding off onto my computer. In those moments, I think, ‘I cannot wait until my contract is over,’ but then I take the summer off or I go on strike, and you start going, ‘Yeah, I miss the fun stuff’.”
