Astonishingly, this manipulation tricked a Tesla Model X from 2016 into misinterpreting the speed limit as 85 miles per hour, resulting in the car accelerating from a limit of 35 miles per hour to an alarming 85 miles per hour.
This flaw in Tesla’s technology is particularly concerning as it has led to 110 crashes and 52 injuries. Tesla owners, who have invested significantly in their vehicles, are being put in dangerous situations due to the oversight in ensuring driver safety while using cruise control.
