Turns out my husband, in a fit of rage, had shown up at her place with bottles of detergent and poured the liquid all over her brand-new furniture. My daughter said he’d shouted, “Tell your mother: My money, my rules!” Last year, when my daughter got married, we had gifted her this furniture set-he had paid for it.
