A woman considers calling off her wedding due to her mother-in-law’s actions

“So, my fiancé and I are going to get married soon. My wedding dress was bought a few weeks ago. However, I got home early from work yesterday, and something terrible took place. A woman talked about the problem she had getting ready for her wedding.

It’s important to note that the future mother-in-law was very interested in this dress: “His mom kept bugging me to try it on, but I politely refused.” She finally got me to stop when she offered $100 to try it on. Why did she keep trying so hard? Why does she say that? Because she “loves” wedding dresses and can’t get enough of them.

“Today, I got home early from work and saw my fiancé already there.” As he texted someone on his phone, he went crazy when he saw me and tried to stop me from going into my room. When I opened the door, I was shocked to see his mom dress in my dress. Right away, I took out my phone and took a picture of her.

“My fiancé went crazy when I told her she had three days to pay for a new dress or I’d show the picture to the whole family.” She started to cry and then left. My fiancé yelled at me, telling me I wasn’t serious and that I was being too dramatic because his mom only wanted to try on the dress, no harm done. I didn’t want to listen to him, though, because I thought the dress should only be worn by the bride. To be honest, seeing the dress again made me feel sick, and I no longer want it. Because she messed it up for me, I think it’s fair that she pays me.

He yelled at me to wake up and stop acting like his mom was an enemy toward her. We got into a fight when he couldn’t get me to give in. Since then, he’s with his mom. I felt terrible, but I worked hard and spent $3K on this dress. I can’t stand looking at it, but my family thinks I’m making things worse and putting my relationship with both my fiancé and my future mother-in-law at risk.

Later, the woman changed her post to say that her fiancé had called and offered to pay for the dress, which would “end the conflict.” But he was adamant about a few things:

– She had to give him her phone so he could delete the picture on his own.
– She had to swear that she didn’t have any extra copies that she could later “use” against his mom.
– She had to tell his mom she was sorry.
– Last, he told her to stay away from his family group chat and Facebook for at least a month.

I might say no because I don’t want him to pay for it. I want his mom, who wore it, to pay for it. “I’m not being mean, but I’m trying to hold her responsible,” the woman said.

Who do you think is the main cause of this fight?
