An 80-year-old woman spends the entire night waiting to adopt the ideal rescue puppy.

To guarantee she would be the first in line for adoption, an elderly woman set up camp outside the shelter.❤️

When you’re young, staying up late might not seem like a huge concern, but by the time they’re 80 years old, most people have stopped doing so. In spite of this, an 80-year-old Bakersfield woman was willing to stay up late in order to acquire the ideal puppy.

KGET reports that an elderly woman named Jeanne Plant fell in love with a 4-year-old rescue puppy at her neighborhood shelter. Plant had not planned on getting a puppy, but after meeting the adorable Shih Tzu at a weekend adoption event, her plans were altered.

The elderly dog lover told the channel, “I fell in love with her big, brown eyes and she was soaking wet at the time.”

Plant was unable to add the Shih Tzu’s name to the waiting list since she wouldn’t be ready for adoption for another three days. Plant told the channel, “Because they told me, ‘First come, first served.’” “They are without options.”

The old woman was motivated to take serious action when she considered that someone else might get the puppy before her. She was adamant about getting her ideal dog. She was the first in line to adopt the dog when the shelter opened the following day because, in spite of her advanced age, she chose to spend the entire night outside.

Plant, who persuaded her niece to participate in the shelter stakeout, declared, “I was determined to be the first at the door.” The night before the dog was put up for adoption, they came at 11 p.m. and spent the entire night waiting for the shelter to open the next day.

Plant kept her footstool by the door, ready to take a seat if someone came up to her. She also waited in her niece’s parked car for the following nine hours. The women were worn out yet first in line when the shelter opened nine hours later.

Plant eventually got to acquire her ideal rescue puppy, Lily, so the long, sleepless night was well worth it. The new owner of Lily remarked, “It feels like heaven!” This rescued dog undoubtedly feels the same way!
