Adopted puppy discovered at shelter, bound to a “Do Not Abandon” placard
While it’s always awful to see pets abandoned at animal shelters, there was a heartbreaking irony to one recent case in which the dog was discovered attached to a “do not abandon” sign.
A picture of a small puppy that had been abandoned overnight on their property was released by the Harbor Humane Society in West Olive, Michigan, on April 9.
The owner did not seem to be listening to the notice that said, “DO NOT ABANDON AN ANIMAL HERE: WAIT UNTIL BUSINESS HOURS,” since the poor dog was chained to it.
According to Harbor Humane, “We know there are many reasons people can’t keep their pets.” However, kindly refrain from tying your pet up in a shelter overnight.
The sign was moved to the back of the training center, according to the officials, since it is out of date and could deter people from bringing animals to Harbor Humane, where there is no fee to drop off a stray.
The humane society is hoping that the woman who left the dog gets in touch with them with further details and makes the assurance that they won’t pass judgment. It’s unclear if this tied-up dog was someone’s pet or was discovered as a stray.
“This dog needs to have her background and tale shared. We only want to help this poor dog; we don’t want to embarrass you or cause you any trouble.
According to what they said, when people give up their pets, they are asked to fill out papers explaining their situation and submit a profile that contains “vital information that aids us in finding their pet a new home.”
Additionally, there is a surrender charge, but they stated in their letter that they will assist families who are having financial troubles.
This is such a sad picture; perhaps, the tiny dog can find a new home soon 💎❤️
