Bradley Cooper harshly mocked for being a “Mama’s boy” after bringing 83-year-old mom to the Oscars

With all the glitz and glam associated with the Oscars, it’s hardly surprising that it takes a few days post-ceremony to properly digest all that went on.

Yet there was one highlight involving actor Bradley Cooper that seemingly flew under the radar entirely. Fortunately it’s getting the online traction it deserves now, and we think you’ll agree that it makes for truly heartwarming reading, irrespective of the usual small collective of naysayers who have crawled out the woodwork.

If you count yourself a Cooper fan, you’ll likely be well versed in the recent rumors that he’s now dating Gigi Hadid. Last week a source shared: “Bradley and Gigi are both genuinely so happy. They’re having a great time together, doing well as a couple, and co-parenting healthily on both sides.”

Yet it was also made clear last week that Hadid wouldn’t be attending the 96th Academy Awards on Cooper’s arm, but rather staying at home with her daughter.

In her place another lady walked the red carpet by Cooper’s side, and it was none other than his 83-year-old mother, Gloria Campano.

Cooper, who was nominated for Best Actor for his performance in the critically-acclaimed Maestro, donned a double-breasted black suit from Louis Vuitton, but it was adorable mother who turned heads at the Dolby Theater.

No sooner had pictures of the mother-son duo made their made to social media than did people express their delight.

“This is cute. He looks like his mom too,” one fan wrote.

“Anyone that brings their mom to an awards show is a winner in my book,” another added.

“He loves his mom so much. Amazing son. ❤him 🙏” a third added.

As is so often the case, however, there were also detractors who tried to claim that Cooper’s decision to take his mother with him to the Oscars was anything other than a sweet, commendable gesture.

Incredibly, there were even those who labeled it “creepy”.

“Again?? Cmon, it’s getting kinda creepy,” one person wrote on People’s Instagram post of Cooper and his mom.

“Again? Getting kinda weird now,” another chimed.

“Good grief, can’t he get another date?…Mama’s boy” a third added.

Now, it should go without saying that we see absolutely nothing wrong with a celebrity choosing to take their mother to arguably the world’s most prestigious awards ceremony. If I was in Cooper’s shoes, my mother might be the first person I would ask to join me!

As per reports, Cooper and Campano share a special bond, perhaps best reflected in the fact that she recently moved into her son’s LA home.

“I love having my mother living with me. I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Cooper shared at the time. The actor reportedly often invites his mother to accompany him on some of his travels as well.

What do you think about Cooper taking his mother to the 2024 Oscars? Let us know in the comments.
