I was exhausted, battling a nasty flu while caring for our newborn. Every night, my cough kept me up—but apparently, it bothered my husband more.

“I can’t sleep,” he whined before packing a bag and heading to his mom’s house. “I need rest.”

I was too weak to argue, but when I recovered, I decided to teach him a lesson. I let him stay gone for a week—no calls, no updates on our baby. Then, I sent him a message:

“Good news! The baby and I are fine without you.”

Panicked, he rushed home, only to find I had changed the locks. His things? Neatly packed and waiting outside.

“If my cough was too much, imagine how annoying my silence will be,” I told him.

He begged to come back, but I made it clear—real partners don’t run when things get hard. He had to prove he deserved to come home.
