My twin sister and I have always been close, but a recent revelation shattered my trust in her. A few days ago, she asked me to babysit while she attended an event. I agreed, but on the day, my husband confessed a secret they’d kept from me for years.

After high school, my sister and I applied to the same university. I was rejected, and she was accepted. I thought it was bad luck, but my husband revealed she was initially waitlisted and wrote an emotional appeal using a deeply personal story of mine—without my consent. When I confronted her, she admitted it, saying she was desperate and thought I’d understand. She insisted her success was due to her hard work and told me to let it go, but I felt betrayed.

I told her I couldn’t babysit, explaining I needed time to process. She accused me of punishing her and called me immature for holding onto something from the past. Our parents are divided: my mom supports me, while my dad thinks I’m being petty. Now my sister and I aren’t speaking, and I’m furious with my husband for keeping this from me. Am I overreacting?
