I made my sister pay for the babysitter for my children when she doesn’t watch them. She gets mad.

Rebecca, who is 30, recently wrote a letter about her worries about her younger sister. She wants to follow a family rule that both sisters have. She thinks her sister should pay for someone to watch Rebecca’s kids if she doesn’t want to do it herself. The woman said that her sister wouldn’t do it, and she’s very angry about what Rebecca said. Here are the specifics of the tricky situation between the sisters.

Both sisters agreed to do something and had to follow through on it.

Becky, a 30-year-old woman, just recently told us online about a scandalous event in her family. The woman was upset about Anna, her 20-year-old sister who is currently a college student.

“I let my sister Anna live with us while she goes to college,” the woman wrote. We told her she had to pay us $500 a month in exchange. $500 pays for her food, her room, and her utility bills. I think it’s a fair deal. She also helps us with our two kids and does some housework. That was our original deal. We even wrote everything down on paper to make sure there was no more doubt.

Rebecca said, “From what I know, room and board at Anna’s school costs about $1,200 a month for shared housing.” And you can only get it during the 8 months of school. It costs her $6,000 a year to live here instead of $9,600 for 8 months and then $4 months living with our mom and stepdad. For two years, this deal worked well. She does great in school and is a good kid.

Recently, things have started to get tense between sisters.

After continuing her story, Rebecca says, “Recently, Anna and I had a big fight. I think she’s totally wrong, but our parents are very hard on me for having my own opinions.” The thing is, Anna has a boyfriend now, and things between them are pretty serious.
It makes sense that Anna wants to spend more time with her boyfriend and go on more dates. But at the same time, my sister has started to whine about having to watch the kids every other Saturday night so my husband and I can go on a date. We had a huge misunderstanding because of this.”

Rebecca said, “I told Anna she had to follow through with our agreement as long as we had one and her college years weren’t over yet.” Additionally, I told her I could find a babysitter, but she would have to pay for them since she was supposed to watch the kids in the first place. Right now Anna is mad at me because she says that paying the babysitter is taking all of her money.

Right now, everyone in Rebecca’s family is criticizing her.

The woman wrote, “Anna was mad at me for suggesting that we do something, and it was clear that she thought I was taking advantage of her.” She swore and said she would stay at her college campus next year. Sure, I told her that was fine with me and thought it was a great idea. She would be free, and I would get back my hobby room.

Rebecca was upset and said, “Everyone in my family was criticizing me.” They called me to tell me that my sister wasn’t really my unpaid babysitter. They told us we had to help each other for free because we were sisters. My mom told me I should let Anna stay at our house for free right now and not blame her for the bills.
They wouldn’t listen when I told them that we had agreed on something and that Anna was happy with it all. I also told her parents that I had already agreed that she could live on campus next semester. That’s when my mom lost it and told me she would no longer be friends with me.

She also said, “When I got home yesterday, Anna was packing her things.” She didn’t even tell me where she was going to live because she didn’t want me to know. Then she told me I was mean and bad because that would make them pay her more and that being away from her job and boyfriend for four months was cruel. I’m not sure what to do. I believe the deal we made was fair.
